Set It and Forget It Backups

Set It - Quickly solve your customers' data protection requirements using our partner web portal, small download (5 MB), and intuitive user interface. No need to receive, configure, install, and maintain any physical appliances or extra hardware -- just a quick download, short setup, and they're all set! If your customer signs up or accepts a free trial, 5 minutes later you can have them up and running. It's that easy!

Configuring the software is as easy as setting the credentials and pass phrase, selecting the data to backup, and setting a backup schedule. A configuration template can be used for even quicker setup or for scripted deployment scenarios. For large customers, preload the initial backup to a USB disk and from then on only the block-level changes have to be sent across the network.

Forget It - Once configured, monitor the status of all services for all customers from a single web page in our partner web portal, or pipe the notifications into your PSA automation software. Our solution is designed to automatically recover from temporary network and operating system errors, but in the case of a problem needing attention, you'll be proactively alerted. Proven Technology and Infrastructure

Changed Data Blocks are Compressed, Encrypted, and Digitally Signed - Each backup your data is analyzed and scanned for changes. Any changed 2KB blocks are compressed, encrypted with AES-256-bit and your private pass phrase, digitally signed for integrity verification upon restore, and tagged with multiple strong checksums to provide data integrity assurance. The encrypted data is then encrypted again as it enters the Internet, until it reaches one of eFolder's secure data centers.

Data is Filtered, Received, and Verified - The data arrives over eFolder's redundant internet connection, is processed by multiple layers of network firewalls, and is then validated for authenticity and integrity. Your encrypted data is then placed in eFolder's private storage cloud.

Data is Made Redundant and Verified on All Physical Media - Our proprietary storage cloud was custom engineered to provide extremely high data integrity assurance. Multiple copies of your data are made, providing a 2N fault tolerance level, and separate and independent checksums are kept for each copy. Every cloud component re-checks the integrity checksums at each point in the pipeline, both before and after the data is physically stored on the storage mediums. The eFolder data center does not indicate to the backup software that the data has been successfully stored until all data has been flushed from all write caches to all physical media with all copies having correct strong checksums. Unified Local and Remote Backups

Configure in Seconds - With just a few extra clicks, configure eFolder to also encrypt and backup the data to an external USB disk, NAS device, SAN, or any accessible file system. Local backups can be centrally monitored just like with online backups. More advanced local backups are also supported where local backups are streamed across a LAN or VPN to one or more local backup servers.

All online backups include local backups for free, allowing you to backup up to 5 times more data locally than remotely for free. Or even use our solution purely for local backups, providing your customers with a reliable, cost-saving alternative to expensive local backup software that must be bought in full up-front. Start your customers who are hesitant about online backups out on a local-only backup plan; as soon as they're ready for online backups flip a switch and they'll have full online protection as well.

Restore Data in Seconds, Not Minutes or Hours - Our restore wizard lets you select where to restore from (local or remote) with a simple drop-down menu. Simply use the explorer-like interface to select the data to restore, choose the point in time and where to restore to, and in seconds you'll have your data back. Or restore online from the eFolder private storage cloud to access your data anytime, anywhere or after a disaster. Either way the digital signature on each block of restored data will be cryptographically verified, providing data assurance that the originally backed up data is 100% bit-for-bit perfect.

Centralized Local Backups and VPN-based Backups - Larger customers may find it easier to store all their locally backed up data on one server that is already provisioned with plenty of storage. Or a customer might already have multiple sites and wants to efficiently backup data from their branch office to their primary office across the VPN, and vice-versa. Easily configure our local backup server on any windows machine just by giving it credentials and the location to the store the data, enabling it to receive locally backed up data from any PC in your customers network. The data is transmitted using our secure and efficient proprietary protocol, ensuring that WAN/VPN traffic is conserved.
